Seminar on ‘Literature into Film: A Revolution in the Making’ |
Objective for conducting the activity |
To deliberate upon whether
cinematic adaptations and appropriations of literary works do really a
justice to literature or reduce our canonical texts to mere adulterations in
the pursuit of entertainment and popularity
To bring into dialogue
reception theory, adaptation studies, film studies, and interpretation of the
canons from the socio-economic perspective
To deliberate on whether
the updating of literature in cinematic form refreshes and broadens or ruins
and restricts the reach of a source text |
