College of Arts, Science and Commerce organized an Ecological Awareness
Trip to Mahabaleshwar
on Saturday, 16th March, 2019. Under the able-bodied guidance of our
Principal, Dr. Shaikh Aftab Anwar and Vice-Principal Prof. Moinuddin Khan, the
trip was flagged off at an early morning with the globally acknowledged concern
of saving our earth and to develop the ecological consciousness among people in
general and students in particular. Ms. Zeenat Merchant Head, Department of
English also motivated the students to participated in the activity in large
number and make the trip a grand success First of all, our caravan visited Vidya Niketan High School and Junior
College, Panchgani where Mr. Basuraj Singh presented his ecological
concerns by quoting various literary examples to the students and promised to
join hand with us in our noble endeavor. Through beautiful landscapes covered
with trees both the edges of the road, seem to welcome us at our second halt at
Anjuman-I-Islam High School and Junior
College, Panchgani which takes pride to own one of the largest lands in
whole region (around 130 Acres) with huge playgrounds, many botanical gardens,
and innovative techniques like rain harvesting and solar system. Mr. Shamsheer
Alam, Director of the institute, delivered a laconic talk particularly
pertaining to create ecological awareness among students. As the warm gesture
of the school, all the students were offered tea and biscuits in the dining
hall. Ultimately, our caravan reached Y
& M Anjuman Khairul Islam’s High School, Mahabaleswar. Dr. Fareeda
Shaikh, Dr. Ashwini Purude, Mr. Zameer Sayyed, Mr. Mohd Asif Khan and MA
(English) students extended their helping hands by donating edible items and
cash amount to needy students in Madarsa.
At
last, we visited many beautiful landscapes in Mahabaleshwar; Wilson Point Arthur
Seat point, old Mahabaleshwar, Venna Lake and Mapro Garden before arriving
Pune. The trip ended with overwhelming response from students. Mr. Mohd Asif
khan was co-coordinator of the trip.
